Start your journey in Lake Mburo National Park with game drives and boat cruises before heading to the dense jungles of Bwindi for an awe-inspiring encounter with mountain gorillas. From there, continue through Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kibale Forest, home of chimpanzees and other fascinating primates, a perfect blend of adventure, scenery, and authentic wildlife experiences.

Itinerary Summary

Day 1: Pick Up and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

The driver will pick you up from the hotel, after which you’ll have breakfast and begin your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, you’ll pause at the Equator in Masaka for a brief stop and photo opportunities before continuing to your destination.

Upon arrival, take part in an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo. After the cruise, enjoy a scenic drive through the park as you make your way back to the lodge, where you will spend the night at Eagles Nest Lodge.

Day 2: Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive where you will be able to spot different animals like Zebras, giraffes, impalas, and many others. When done, have lunch and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, check in, unpack, and relax for the evening to prepare for the trek the next morning. Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Camp

Day 3: Trekking of the Mountain Gorillas 

After an early morning breakfast, prepare yourself for an astonishng experience. Your driver will take you to the starting point for a briefing on what to expect during the trek. This activity can go from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorilla family you are trekking and where they slept the previous night.

Being a rainforest, the weather can change at any time, adding to the adventure. Walking in the mud and through thick bushes is part of the trek, but that’s what makes the experience worthwhile. After finding the gorillas, you will spend 1 hour with them. This also allows the gorillas to become accustomed to human contact, and you get the unique opportunity to interact with them in their natural habitat. You will then return to the lodge for the evening- Rushaga Gorilla Camp

Day 4: Travel to Kibale National Park through Queen Elizabeth National Park 

Wake up, have Breakfast, and embark on a journey to Kibale National Park via Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, you will witness the breathtaking hills and terraces of southwestern Uganda and the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Optional activities for the evening are, visiting the major tea plantations, or exploring the stunning crater lakes and glaciers of the ‘Mountains of the Moon, you could choose to rest for the evening. Accommodation: Kibale Forest Camp

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park Chimp Trekking.

After breakfast, you will be dropped off at the briefing site to begin your trek. After finding the chimps, you will have 1 hour to spend with the chimpanzees, giving you a unique opportunity to observe them and capture some memorable photos of your experience.

Later, enjoy your lunch and you can opt to visit to the Bigodi Swamp Sanctuary before retiring for the day. Accommodation: Kibale Forest Camp

Day 6: Transfer to Entebbe through Kampala.

After having breakfast, your guide will drive you to Entebbe. You will have lunch en route before being dropped off at your guest house or the airport for your flight. This will mark the end of your safari.
