Mabamba Bay Wetland is a Ramsar site on the shores of Lake Victoria, just 50 kilometers from Kampala. It is the most reliable location in Africa to spot the prehistoric-looking Shoebill stork, one of Africa's most sought-after birds. The wetland covers 2,424 hectares and supports an incredible diversity of waterbirds. Canoe trips through the papyrus swamps offer intimate birdwatching experiences.
